Nick Waterhouse Concerts Look Like A Party Times Ten

Admittedly, I don’t know much about Nick Waterhouse – but if this concert footage is any indication, he sure knows how to put on a great show. I am digging the swinging drums and saxophone with some R&B-like crooning. Here he sings the title track from his upcoming debut LP, Time’s All Gone, which drops May 1st.

Hump Day Mix Tape ft. Dummy Mag Mix 111, Midnight Magic & More Ass Shakers

My heart is still recovering from not being at South by Southwest. In all seriousness I think I sounded like an air-horn that replaced the annoying honking sound with the even more annoying Snookie, “Waaaah”.

Instead of crying about it (any more), I distracted myself by finding music to share with you.

Let’s start out with this tasty Holy Ghost remix of Midnight Magic’s track “Drop Me A Line

Dummy Mag’s Mix from Brenmar is a delight and holy shit – it even has Dru Hill‘s “How Deep Is Your Love” which was my dance floor grinding jam back in college.

Rye Rye will be releasing a proper album soon and a set of remixes for the single “Boom Boom” has made its way to the net. So far, this is my favorite of the batch:

Father John Misty’s NSFW Video is a Slice of Depraved Heaven

Father John Misty

Former Fleet Foxes drummer J. Tillman has a new solo project by the name Father John MIsty. He just released an NSFW video that my depraved little heart loves. You’ve got this beautiful, soft and slightly high-pitched man’s voice singing about being flogged by a dominatrix as if he were still just hanging out with some long-haired dudes on the grassy knoll singing about the weather. It’s Bee Gees meets a role reversal in The Secretary. BTW, if you are a fan of dark humor and, just as an example, know and celebrate the legend that was Leigh Bowery, you should really follow Tillman’s Tumblr too – I have a feeling shit’s gonna get really weird.

Here’s a stream and download of another song, “Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings”, from his full length debut, Fear Fun, out May 1st.
