Chubby Jones Couch to 5k Version 4 Podcasts

Couch to 5k podcast Week 1

Oh snap – it’s 2015 y’all! I’m a little bit concerned about how quickly time is going by these days and also concerned about the way my winter weight isn’t just creeping up on me, it basically decided to arrive unannounced in order to crash on my couch for an undetermined amount of time. Well, now that I’ve forked over the money for a gym membership and new running shoes, I’m ready to evict that bitch and get my ass in gear to run a 10k this summer (I realize that a half marathon would’ve been more impressive, but all that training would really interfere with my drinking schedule).

Thus, here is Week 1 version 4(!!!) of the Chubby Jones Couch to 5k podcast. I think I found some great music to get us started with a 5 minute walking warmup followed by intervals of 60 seconds of running jogging and 90 seconds of brisk walking for a total of 20 minutes (the math on this is a little iffy, but whatever).

Couch to 5k podcast Week 2

Your new Couch to 5k podcast is up and ready for getting your sweet behind moving. This week, we’ll start with our usual 5 minute walking warmup then go into intervals of 90 seconds jogging and 2 minutes of walking, for a total of 20 minutes. Don’t forget to cool down, stretch and most importantly: Treat Yo Self!

Couch to 5k podcast Week 3

We’re starting with a 5 minute walking warmup then headed into 90 seconds of jogging, 90 seconds of walking, 3 minutes of jogging, 3 minutes of walking and it’ll be so nice, we’ll do it twice!

Couch to 5k podcast Week 4

I just finished testing this podcast out and I am sweating like a mo fo! We’re starting with our usual 5 minute walking warm-up and then head into 3 minutes of jogging, 90 seconds of walking, 5 minutes of jogging, 2 and a half minutes of walking, 3 minutes of jogging, 90 seconds of walking and finishing strong with another 5 minute run into a 5 minute cool down. I’m really feeling this week’s music and I hope you will too!

Couch to 5k podcast Week 5

We’re doing our usual 5 minute walking warm-up followed by 5 minutes of jogging and 3 minutes of walking and we’ll be doing that combo three times! Get psyched because we’ve got some great music to get us through this and this time there are even CAT SOUND EFFECTS (and maybe an elephant just for good measure).

Couch to 5k podcast Week 6

I’ve been doing a lot of meditating recently – I don’t know if it’s due to age, all the changes happening at once in my life, the dark dark darkness of it all or what, but I somehow came to a few realizations that I hope you don’t mind me including in this podcast.

This week we’re starting with our 5 minute walking warm-up then heading into a 5 minute jog, 3 minutes of brisk walking, 8 minutes of jogging, 3 minutes of that brisk walking and 5 minutes of jogging followed by a cool-down.

Couch to 5k podcast Week 7

We made it to week 7! We’ll be doing our regular 5 minute walking warm-up, followed by 25 minutes of nonstop running! Lace up them shoes, stretch it out and get ready to leave behind any limiting beliefs you brought with you because you’re about to kick some serious ass.

Couch to 5k podcast Week 8

Start with your 5 minute walking warm-up, and then get your head together to run/jog/walk/twerk for the next 28 minutes.

Couch to 5k podcast Week 9

Hey Homeslices, I’m back with a new podcast to round out version 4 of this podcast series! Since it’s 2017 and, well, EVERYTHING, I did things a little bit differently (like, very, very slightly different) at the beginning of this podcast. If you don’t like change, try it anyway. If you are completely resistant, you can fast forward to about the 2:40 mark to start our usual walking warm-up.
