Shut the door, turn off the lights and put Miguel’s jam “Adorn” (featuring the woman who has been the soundtrack to my summer so far, Jessie Ware) on blast & repeat. It’s never too hot outside for sexual healing.
Variety may be the spice of life but I’d like to throw it out there that I’m a big fan of consistency too. When I feel like I’ve finally got things figured out I realize I don’t know anything. So, I am grateful for the little things keeping shit real: Bourbon, Marshall, some great friends and of course, music.
I can’t lie, it’s been a week of ups, downs, nausea and fireworks. It was about as mashed up as the insanely great Jay-Z/Dolly Parton mash included in this mix. The weekend is here, it’s hot as fuck outside, so may as well sweat with these tunes in your ears.
My time spent at home came and went too quickly but I was ready to get back to NYC because, as I’m sure most of you know, there’s a certain amount of time spent with large groups of family in hectic settings that makes it impossible to want to spend any more time in that same setting.
I’m back and feel twenty pounds heavier – but this too shall pass and this weekend I’ll be celebrating my first Pride in New York. So, let’s do it to it everybody. Here’s your Summer MixTape: Walking on the Moon
