A friend just asked everyone their favorite song of the moment so I took a quick glance at “My Weekly Obsessions” playlist, spotted Disclosure’s “Latch” and was surprised to find I hadn’t already posted the song right up in hurrrr. This jam is hot, fresh and a great way to welcome whatever this summer will bring.
Got damn – I said GOTDAYUM! Mount Kimbie’s “Made to Stray” got my attention with a minimal beat lead-in, then spreads the love out to some Afro-Cuban vibing – culminating in a sound I usually associate with Hot Chip:

With their new single, “Home”, Austra stays true to form and creates a gorgeous soundscape layered with emotional urgency.
My poor lil pooch has a sore foot and while I keep cleaning it and putting antibacterial ointment on his paw – he keeps getting excited and hurts it within ten minutes every time we go outside and I end up having to carry my little gremlin back home to clean, antibacterialize, wash, rinse, repeat.
Stubborn Heart’s remix of Ren Harvieu’s “Tonight” is what is going to get me through the rest of this day. Maybe even the rest of this week.
The 0:50 mark made me miss Chicago in the worst way. Loving this even if it runs its course a bit earlier than the full 4:12, but maybe I’m just a sucker for keeping that beat stanky.
